As a Business Intelligence Engineer, Leif Bowen ensures teams have the necessary Power BI data to make informed decisions. He says collaborating with Wellabe colleagues in various departments is one of the highlights in his role.

“It gives me a greater understanding of how our company works,” he says.

Flashback to five years ago, Leif was searching for his next career opportunity. With a background in business intelligence through college, retail, and insurance industries, he was drawn to Wellabe’s innovative approach.

“I was impressed by how forward-thinking Wellabe was compared to other companies in the industry, and I jumped at the chance to work with more modern technology,” he says.

During his first days, a former coworker helped him adjust to his new career.

“He inspired me to always try new things and innovate. He never stopped giving me tips and bringing up new technology or training opportunities,” he says.

Five years later, Leif can reflect on his accomplishments.

“I am proud that I organized our team’s efforts around [an internal program] upgrade that happened a couple years ago,” he says.

And Leif is excited about the progress they’re making on the data infrastructure project.

“I’m hopeful that we’ll be able to empower employees who aren’t familiar with our data to use it in a way that helps them do their job,” he says.

Outside of work, Leif enjoys playing video games, drawing, and watching cartoons.
