Michelle Sams, Talent Acquisition and Employee Lifestyle Manager, exemplifies Wellabe’s “Be better” core value.
“I manage the full lifecycle recruitment process, develop appropriate marketing strategies, help with the other human resources team members, and achieve an effective and efficient talent lifecycle,” she says.
Michelle’s commitment to growth stems from a former manager.
“A past leader encouraged me to think outside the box and trust in the work. She did a great job of never saying ‘no’ but instead offered options I would not have considered,” she says.
In fact, human resources wasn’t the career Michelle initially considered. She received her undergraduate degree in fashion design.
“I always thought I wanted to live in a big city and work in fashion. After I graduated college, I found it to be a tough industry,” she says. “I decided to get my master’s in human resources.”
Michelle’s first job out of graduate school was a Human Resource Generalist, where she instantly fell in love with the type of work.
“I love working with people and helping them,” she says. “I enjoy that not every day is the same. There are always new projects to work on that help use my creative side.”
As she looks ahead, Michelle strives to continue to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within Wellabe.
