Wellabe, a leading provider of supplemental health and life insurance products, announced the promotion of Sara Lehan to Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In her new role, Lehan will assume executive responsibility for both Wellabe’s Finance and Investment teams, ensuring strategic alignment across these two critical functions.

“Sara’s deep expertise in both investment and finance, combined with her 23 years of insurance industry experience, makes her exceptionally well-suited to lead these functions,” said Dave Keith, president and chief executive officer of Wellabe. “Her commitment to Wellabe’s mission and her proven track record of leadership give us great confidence as she steps into this expanded role.”

Lehan joined Wellabe in 2009 and has built a distinguished career within the organization over 16 years. Most recently, she was Chief Investment Officer, responsible for managing and monitoring investment activity and collaborating with external asset managers to develop and execute portfolio strategies.

Prior to joining Wellabe, Lehan spent seven years at EY (Ernst & Young LLP), where she specialized in audit and assurance services for insurance clients. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, and holds both the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.

Lehan is actively engaged in the Des Moines community. She has served as Treasurer on the Board of Governors for the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, is a member of the career awareness committee for the Iowa Society of CPAs, and currently serves on the board of Collins Community Credit Union.
