Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is almost here
Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, giving you an opportunity to review your current coverage and make changes for the upcoming year. Changes made during AEP generally take effect Jan. 1.
Even if you're satisfied with your current coverage, it's worth taking a closer look. Plans, premiums, provider networks, and prescription drug coverage can change from year to year. During September, many Medicare Advantage and Part D members receive an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) outlining updates for the coming year.
Common reasons people review their coverage during AEP
Many Medicare beneficiaries review their plans because of:
  • Changes to premiums or coverage
  • Provider network updates
  • New Medicare plan options
  • Prescription drug needs
  • A recent move
  • Changes in health or financial circumstances
Taking time to compare your options could help ensure your coverage continues to meet your needs and budget.
